The London knife is the knife of Brittany; it is the sailor’s knife par excellence. It undoubtedly originated in England. It is sometimes also referred to as the London knife. In the early 20th century, the so-called sheep’s foot blade was the only blade shape permitted on board ships. Thanks to the rounded blades, the risk of serious injury during brawls was reduced.The handle scales are made from juniper wood with a peppery scent. Small stainless steel rivets in the shape of an anchor adorn the handle. High-performance 12C27 Sandvik steel has been used for the blade.
