The last mammoths died out only 8,000 to 10,000 years ago. Today, mammoth ivory is found mainly on the Siberian Arctic coast. Export is only permitted following a scientific assessment and with the appropriate licence. However, mammoth ivory is not subject to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species and may be traded freely.This elegant Thiers knife features a stainless damask blade made from DSC® STAINLESS steel by Markus Balbach. The stainless steel has a very fine grain structure and a Rockwell hardness of approximately 62 HRC.
