Fontenille Pataud Laguiole NATURE Exception blue mammoth ivory damascus blade 12 cm
Fontenille Pataud, a high-end manufacturer of fine cutlery since 1929, is based in Thiers, France. All work steps are carried out by hand by one cutler.
The Laguiole NATURE knife combines the best of old and new. The traditional elegance of a Laguiole knife has been updated with a smooth-running blade locking system. It is easy to use, beautiful to look at and superior in performance. The backlock at the end of the handle allows the knife to be closed gently.
The 12 cm long handle was made from fossilised blue mammoth ivory. This special colour is very rare and expensive. The material comes from the Siberian permafrost. The shepherd's cross is omitted due to the filigree material. The bee and back spring are forged from one piece. The back spring is decorated with a particularly fine engraving by hand. The bee is just as beautifully crafted.
In addition to the elegant handle scales, the extremely sharp blade made from stainless Vinland Damascus is certainly an eye-catcher. The Damascus has 160 layers and an HRC of 60, and the blade is very fine ground. The finish of this unique piece is shiny polished.
The item comes with a handmade leather sheath and a numbered manufactory certificate.
