The Thiers VERROU (lock) knife by Claude Dozorme is a folding knife. The mechanism that locks and unlocks the blade is particularly interesting. There is a small snap lock at the end of the knife back. This is used to lock and unlock the blade. The blade is also locked when closed. This ingenious lock was developed by an aeronautical engineer from Auvergne and patented by Claude Dozorme.
The handle scales of the VERROU are made of Norwegian burr birch wood. The knife fits comfortably in the hand. Both the plates and the resort have been decorated by hand. The eye-catching feature of the Verous is the Damascus blade from Markus Balbach.
The DSC® STAINLESS stainless Damascus steel from Markus Balbach has a Rockwell hardness of approximately 62HRC. The steel has a fine structure and impresses with its cutting performance. In 1980, this knife shape, which is based on a design known since 1528, was declared Le THIERS by a jury that included Claude DOZORME. Strict rules were established for its manufacture, guaranteeing buyers high-quality workmanship.

The company CLAUDE DOZORME was founded in 1902 in the heart of Auvergne, in the French knife capital of Thiers. The tradition of the forge has been continued for over 100 years and was family-owned until 2022. Didier Perret is the new owner of the traditional company since March 2022.
