Clos ist die französische Bezeichnung für einen umfriedeten Weinberg. Dieser wurde oftmals von Mönchen wie den Zisterziensern und Benediktinern angelegt. Viele berühmte Weingüter führen diese Bezeichnung in ihrem Namen. Die Griffschalen dieses exquisiten Sammlerstücks wurden aus Mammutbackenzahn (stabilisiert) gefertigt. Mammutelfenbein bzw. Mammutbackenzahn ist das älteste plastische Material der Kunst- und Kulturgeschichte. Schon die Eiszeitmenschen fertigten aus Mammutstoßzähnen Schmuckstücke und Figuren.Heute findet man vor allem an der sibirischen Polarmeerküste Mammutelfenbein. Eine Ausfuhr ist nur nach einer wissenschaflichen Auswertung und entsprechender Lizenz möglich. Mammutelfenbein unterliegt aber nicht dem Artenschutzabkommen und darf frei gehandelt werden
Dieses exklusive und rare Material ist schwierig zu bearbeiten. Die Materialanmutung aufgrund der Stärke der Griffschalen ist hervorragend. Der Messerrücken ist von Hand guillochiert. Die typische Laguiole Biene ziert das schöne Kellnermesser. Im Lieferumfang ist ein hübschs Leder-Etui enthalten.Das Besondere an diesem Kellnermesser ist die justierbare Spindel. Mittels mitgeliefertem kleinen Schlüssel kann die Gängigkeit beliebig eingestellt werden. Auch längere Korken werden sicher und mit nur einem Hub aus der Flasche gezogen.
