Perceval was founded in Thiers in 1995 and initially specialised in the production of fixed knives. Together with the owner Félix Poché, an enthusiastic team of cutlers creates high-end products in the workshop in Thiers, the knife-making capital of France. In addition to elegant folding knives, the range also includes high-quality steak cutlery and sommelier knives.

Sammelermesser - UNIKAT Le Grand Klappmesser mit Griffschalen aus blaugrüner Mammutelfenbeinkruste
Besonders selten ist die hier verarbeitete blau/güne Farbe des Mammutstoßzahnes. Sie ist natürlich und ensteht durch mineralische Einlagerungen. Durch die Polisage des Elfenbein wird eine feine, samtige Oberfläche erreicht.
Neben der schönen Griffbeschalung ist sicherlich die lange rostfreie Damast Klinge ein absoluter Blickfang. Die Klingen der Le Grand Serie sind mit dem Damast Vinland aus der Schmiede Damasteel gefertigt, dessen deutliche Prägung und den feinen Linien dieses Messer seinen Charakter verleiht. Die Lamellierung des Stahls wird durch Pulvertechnik erzielt. Mit dieser kristallinen Sintermethode bleibt die Kornfeinheit erhalten und die Legierung wird rostbeständig.Die Klinge ist kryogen behandelt und auf Kugellagern montiert. Das Ebenholz mit den stärksten Kontrasten, der ausgeprägtesten Maserung, aber auch das wertvollste der Ebenhölzer.Makassar EbenholzDas Ebenholz aus Makassar/Indonesien (Diospyros Celebica oder Coromandel) weist eine Dichte zwischen 1,10 und 1,20 auf. Dieses Holz wird wegen seines eleganten Glanzes und der schwarz-dunkelbraunen Maserung der Faser oder Marmorierung geschätzt und lässt sich sehr gut in der Kunstdrechslerei oder für Skulpturen verarbeiten.
Für die Damastklingen setzt Perceval die neuesten Innovationen im Bereich der Metallverarbeitung ein. Die Lamellierung dieses Stahls wird durch Pulvertechnik erzielt. Knorren aus Wüsteneisenholz aus Arizona Das Wüsteneisenholz aus der Familie der Fabaceae aus Arizona (Olneya Tesota oder Palo Fierro) gehört zu den bei Perceval verarbeiteten Spitzenwerkstoffen. Dieses Edelholz gehört zu den schwersten und dichtesten Holzarten der Welt und ist mehrere Tausend Jahre alt. Es kann nur bearbeitet werden, wenn der Baum natürlich abgestorben und das Holz vor Ort etwa 3 000 Jahre lang getrocknet ist. Es handelt sich um ein halb-versteinertes, natürlich dunkles und deutlich gemasertes Holz.Es stammt aus dem Petrified Forest in Arizona, der seit 2008 auf der Vorschlagsliste des Welterbes steht. Das Bemerkenswerte an diesem Gebiet ist seine Konzentration seit Millionen Jahren versteinerter Bäume.
