The typical hunting knife of the Mugello, located in the heart of Tuscany not far from Florent.
The Mugellano is a typical hunting knife. The older models were fitted with extractors, which disappeared with the advent of modern rifles.
It has been produced and used in Scarperia since the early twentieth century and has a large leaf-shaped blade. They are slipjoint knives. The Mugellano is usually covered with cow horn or wood scales and is particularly robust and also popular for purposes other than hunting.

Der Firmensitz von Saladini ist Scarperia, ein kleiner Ort in der Toskana, der ca. 20 km von Florenz entfernt ist. Das Wahrzeichen ist der Palazzo Pretorio in Scarperia, mit seinem markanten Turm.
Scarperia wurde am 8. September 1306 gegründet und seine Besonderheit ist die alte Tradition der Messer Herstellung, oder besser der "schneidenden Eisen", wie diese Objekte altsprachlich früher genannt wurden. Saladini möchte diese alte Tradition, der handwerklichen Herstellung von Taschenmessern, BTafelbesteck und Kochmessern. Alles wird mit jener Sorgfalt und Aufmerksamkeit hergestellt, die Objekte verdienen, welche mit Liebe und Hingabe geschaffen werden.
