Laguiole en Aubrac bocote brass bolsters and brass plates 12 cm

12 cm Laguiole knife with Bocote wood handle scales, brass plate and brass bolsters - a classic Laguiole knife from Laguiole en Aubrac.
The handle is made of beautifully scaled bocote wood. Bocote, also called Mexican rosewood, is a decorative South American hardwood. The uniquely beautiful grain shows dark brown to black veins on a coffee-brown background. Due to its natural oil content, it is excellently suited for knife handles and can also be polished very well.

The traditional brass bolsters and plates, which are particularly popular in France, give the knife a noble, elegant character. The nib, forged from one piece, has been decorated by hand with beautiful file work. (Guilloche/signature of the master smith) The traditional shepherd's cross adorns the handle. The blade is made of 12C27MOD Sandvik steel. This stainless steel is considered to be very sharp and is easy to resharpen. The handle, bolsters and blade have a mat finish.
