Saladini ZUAVA NEXT buffalohorn mat
SALADINI has ‘modernised’ the classic ZUAVA knife with the ZUAVA NEXT. It has been equipped with a liner lock mechanism.
The ZUVA NEXT pocket knife is an exclusive product from the SALADINI forge. The locking mechanism makes the knife easy to open and convenient to close. The ZUAVA knife is somewhat similar to the Florentine knife. However, it is equipped with plates. The name refers to the name of a former French military body, the Zouaves, who probably used a knife/blade of this type.
The robust and easy to handle pocket knife was the knife for everyday use, used by hunters as well as farmers. It was just as suitable for doing work as it was for eating.
The ZUAVA is also considered by many to be Scarperia's knife. The handle is made from matt buffalo horn. UGINOX MA5MV (1.4116 HRC56-58) stainless steel is used for the blade steel in the Saladini forge.

SALADINI
Saladini is based in Scarperia, a small town in Tuscany about 20 kilometres from Florence. Its landmark is the Palazzo Pretorio in Scarperia, with its striking tower.
Scarperia was founded on 8 September 1306 and its special feature is the old tradition of knife making, or rather ‘cutting iron’, as these objects used to be called in the old days.
Saladini wants to preserve this ancient tradition of handcrafting pocket knives, cutlery and chef's knives. Everything is made with the care and attention that objects created with love and dedication deserve.
