Marie Taillardat Le 1925 white Ebony

The Le 1925, the first work of the talented blacksmith Marie Taillerdat from Thiers, is a homage to her grandfather. The slim, purely handcrafted pocket knife fits perfectly in the hand.

The shape of the 1925 is timelessly elegant. The handle consists of an artfully crafted combination of coloured resin and a honeycomb-shaped metal grid - a fascinating reproduction of a honeycomb that combines aesthetics and modern material design.

The pocket knife is equipped with a Damascus blade made from 67-ply Suminagashi VG 10 Damascus stainless steel. This sandwich damascus can be ground very finely and sharply thanks to its carbon core. The 1925 has a comfortable blade action. Plates and back spring are kept plain and smooth. The beautifully shaped slipjoint knife is impeccably finished.

Coutellerie Marie Taillardat

Marie Tailerdat - cutler in Thiers

In 2013, Marie Taillardat began an apprenticeship at the renowned Atelier Perceval forge. The talented young woman was soon given the responsibility of producing chef's knives, sommliers and pocket knives. After a few years, she decided to set up her own business and founded her own company, Coutellerie Marie Taillardat, in March 2020 at the age of 29. Her first work is the 1925 model, a tribute to her grandfather, who shaped Marie's life. Marie now produces the 1925 BB, the smaller version of her first piece.
