Coutellerie du Lotus Cornicciolu ram horn corsican shepherd's knife
Traditional Corsican Cornicciolu made by hand
In the village of Levie, in the heart of the Alta Rocca in South Corsica, Franck THOMAS, Jean-François TRAMONI and Olivier MORETTI make traditional Corsican shepherd's knives.
The handle of the Cornicciolu is made from a piece of ram's horn into which the seat of the blade is sawn. The forged Brut de Forge blade is made of XC75 steel. The non-stainless blade steel is finely and sharply ground.
The dark blade is polished towards the edge.
Founded in Corsica over 35 years ago, Coutellerie du Lotus designs and manufactures its pieces in a constant quest for quality and respect for the traditions of artisan forging. The materials used are selected and crafted by the owners themselves.
